Beeswax is a great material for all types of candles because it burns five times slower than other waxes. Beeswax candles come in many shapes and sizes. The different types of beeswax candles have different uses depending on the occasion and desired look.
Beeswax candles can be made by rolling a beeswax sheet into a cylinder, or melting the wax and pouring it into a mold. The pure beeswax sheet is a textured, honeycomb material. The poured beeswax is smooth, but still has a golden color, which can be white if the beeswax is bleached.
Pure beeswax makes a great material for floating candles because it has no additives and is translucent. When lit, it reflects the light from the water. Floating beeswax candles are small candles shaped so they can float on water. In order for the candle to float, the top of the candle must be bigger than the bottom, much like a boat on water.
